  2. Well, he's a 6'6" point guard with actual point guard skills so I don't think it's a stretch, actually. He's going to have to improve - it would help a lot if he became a better jump shooter, for example - but his size gives him a big advantage on a lot of college players in making the transition.

  3. Plus when MD gets Born Ready and he actually has a reliable scorer to pass the ball to he'll up from 15 5 and 5 to 15 7 and 7 and get a couple more triple doubles thus bringing him the accolades he deserves. He's a better defender than people give him credit for too, only guy in college basketball to force Lawson into more TOs than assists last year.

  4. I guess you're talking about this game and not this one, huh?

I'm guessing the NBA's chief concern is going to be consistency and better decision-making (plus probably better team performance). And that's where I think Stephenson will be a bigger help. By giving the Terps another legitimate offensive weapon that they were sorely lacking last year, hopefully Vasquez won't have to (and will be smart enough not to) take 15 shots a game. The byproduct would be greater efficiency from him and the offense as a whole. He's going to have to shoot better than 40% from the field and 32% from the college 3 to be an asset in the NBA.

  5. Well yes. If it only happened once all year than the one time it happened would be the game I'm talkign about.

Today there is a bunch of "Born Ready isn't coming" being reported but the logic and sources behind it don't really sit right with me. One of the sources is all "they haven't been recruiting him for several weeks" and BRs father just last week said "MD is still in the mix, they've been great, I talk to all the coaches all the time".

BR or no BR the team as a whole will be much more well rounded next year with a couple of new bigs that actually play on the block. I also expect Mosely and Cliff Tucker to see more run and be more polished. And UNC and Duke and Wake will all be down from what they were last year and MD should be better which will only lead to greater thins for Grevis...

  6. I understand the logic in that Yahoo blog post that I linked to earlier - that basically he's given every indication that he's looking to maximize his exposure and be The Man. But in that case, it seems like the best thing would be if Vasquez called him and say "come play with me - I'm not selfish at all, we need a featured scorer, and we can do great things together." Unless that's against the NCAA's rules, which it almost certainly is. GAF.
