WTF?: Ravens "Statement" Games

A few weeks back, Ravens head coach and one jackal motherfucker, John Harbaugh, wondered aloud "why the Ravens don't get a non-Sunday, home game in primetime", as if he and his team were slighted in some regard to going on the road for marquee matchups. When you consistently fail to make a statement in those games, however, you can see why someone might not put you first in line. Denver(MNF 2 seasons ago), Green Bay(MNF last year), Atlanta(NFL Network), Tom Brady/Ben Roethlisberger/Payton Manning, get up for these games, yo! Next Monday, my boys get another chance, MNF, primetime, nationally-televised, but it's against Houston. That's not a statement. Well, it is if they don't win.

  1. Hindsight is 20/20, but it really seems bizarre to me that they left Flacco so exposed on that strip/sack. You've got Pittsburgh in a situation where they need a TD, which they haven't gotten all night, so you need to be pretty conservative in that situation. I understand that you might want to pass (though maybe not on 2nd and 5) but if you're going to do so, I think you need to make sure to protect your QB. I don't know if Flacco just didn't think Polamalu was that fast or what, but it seemed like a pretty big screw up.

  2. There's a PR guy for the Ravens' website that hosts a radio show and CONSTANTLY refers to Cam Cameron as "The Alchemist". He hardly looks it in Week 13 of the NFL season, but I'm just a disgruntled fan. I don't really understand the game at the level these guys play it, but I know you have to capitalize an opportunity like that. Sometimes, it seems the Ravens play better as underdogs. I both love and hate that attribute of my city/team. I really love it if the alternative is being spoiled as Indianapolis fans have been.

Whoa, I was drunk during this game. Either that, or trauma blacked out portions of the evening. I'd really like to see Shittsburgh again and finish what was started.

  3. Who's they? The call was a run blitz, the RB picked #94 instead of Polamalu (bc the TE was releasing on the flat) Flacco should had changed the protection or the play. Although in a 3 step drop very few blizters can get to you...polamalu is ridicolous.

    Awesome rivalry

  4. I do agree a max protect or a run play are usually what gets called...but then they punt and he called it too conservative...can you image being a coach??? It has to be hell on earth.

  5. You run the ball there. It was second and five, odds of 2 runs producing a game clinching first down have to be at least 50%...

Boogers was very drunk, I can attest to that. This is a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

  6. SS, you call the "pot kettle black" until the beak falls off yo! You love you some of that saying. What it was was the Ravens having a bird in their hand and being like, "ooh ooh there's like forty birds in this bush!"

I'm glad we got out of the season 50-50. We took out their punter. They may have won, but we'll see them down the stretch. Ben has no protection, and my boy, 92 broke his fuckin' nose. That was jackal. It was also jackal that the fucker finished the football game I'm sad to say, but I'm sure he was on some serious pharmaceutical cocktails to play 3 hours with a broken foot and not realize his nose was broken. In summation, this rivalry epitomizes NFL football. May revenge be sweet.

At the snap, Polamalu was lined up at the line with no blockers in front of him. And he was coming blindside, and not on a particularly wide side of the formation - he was two guys removed from the center. So it was basically whether Polamalu could take 5 steps forward before Flacco could take 3 back and throw. I don't think it's surprising what happened or there's any way that's not a huge fuck up on someone's part, and probably multiple people's.

Head, I think you left out the part that made you make sense. I'm just sayin'.
