Joint JsOTD: James Carville and Joe McGinnis

This guy is keeping it jackal. Get all up in that Palin family. You know the older one is pretty easy and doesn't like condoms. This guy is calling out Obama and scowling. Check out how pissed he gets at our real live jackal, Barack. The be-all-end-all Jackal of the Day? You decide.

  1. Carville is a gigantic douchebag. He spent all of this afternoon kissing the presidents ass on CNN taking back his criticism and saying that "once he get down heya and see for hisself, i am sure he gona do da right thing...but the president is a very smart man an I am deeply rooted in his ass."

None of these shitheads have a clue about what to do here. No offense to your boy Obama but he is included in that group. This thing is so fucking huge they will be cleaning this up for the next 20-30 years. Forty days for approvals and red tape is only the beginning. I am considering quitting my job and going down there with some rubber gloves and some dawn because shit is so bad and by the time they figure it out it will be too late. ...said it before and I'll say it again and again, Democrats are just as big of shitheads as Republicans. I get the feeling that 'Merican citizens are going to start going 1960s on these bitches real soon (at least I hope.)

  4. Junk shot is the only part that remotely resembles porn lingo, but KFTC, BD2x. This is not a partisan issue, it's pretty obvious, the government should have taken over the minute that thing burst into flames. It's quite obvious the "junk shot" was a last resort, because it hampers BP's ability to "salvage" the oil geyser. Carville was fucking pissed because it's his home town and god bless him for saying something. He's got PR people all around him and they were probably like, "Yo, Jim, you looked pretty fucking out of control(jackal) on live TV. Barack doesn't exactly need dissension within the party, you cracka ass cracka." That's why he tucked tail and ran, but the truth, I think, is if every American could see this bullshit first hand and pick up dead, oil-soaked animals, we'd all be as pissed as the Ragin' Cajun.

  5. if he was jackal he would tell his advisors to shove it. dissention is what 'Merica is all about. F the 2 party system. How about free thinkers that don't have to back their leader and can think for themselves? Obama is finally focusing on this problem, but I hope it isn't too late. I am still down with President Obama, but the shittyness that is our government is way bigger than he is (he plays the dem card alot though). I am pissed as hell too.

On a lighter note, you can guaruntee that we could do a trip to N.O. in the next few months on the real cheap.

  6. I wasn't nominating Carville's opinion, I was nominating how he appeared to have smoke coming out of his ears and looking into the camera as if you mentally strangle Barack Obama.

This was YESTERDAY'S JOTD debate. Couldn't you just vote Joe McGinnis and move along?

  7. Kevin Drum says it best: We should draw a distinction between criticism of the government's efforts at cleaning this up and all of the other crap that's being thrown at Obama over this. The government could potentially throw more resources at the clean up effort, and could have possibly gotten more out in front of that piece of it. HOWEVER, (1) the government has absolutely no capacity to close off this leak (2) it's not Obama's fault that the MMS basically abdicated their regulatory responsibility and approved this well and (3) "taking over" doesn't really accomplish anything.

Arguments that Obama should have been more "involved" are basically entirely about political optics and have nothing to do with substance. They're very reminiscent of the arguments at the beginning of the year that Obama should have focused more on the economy, ignoring that Congress passed the stimulus and many other jobs-related bills, which basically amounted to the argument that Obama should have just stood around talking about the economy all year.

(To be clear, I think Carville's complaint was partly about clean up, which is entirely within bounds, and partly about the political efficacy of the government's response, which is somewhat nonsense and somewhat reasonable since he is a political strategist.)
