I know how much money Alaska derives from oil. It is a lot. It is the reason the state has a large amount of money stashed away and no taxes.
I have learned a lot about the ins and outs of the oil business since living up here. The town I live near is only a town because the pipeline runs through it. Everyone up here wants a job on the slope because it pays well. People up here want to "drill baby drill", they want more high paying oil jobs.
The pipeline is past its expiration date, it wasn't suppose to last this long, and it is very rusty and is springing leaks left and right. If lack of flow doesn't spell the end for it, other factors will. Bad news for Business As Usual. Packing bug out bags must be a serious priority for all ninjas who want to keep on ninjaing.
bhmf, "Oil provides nearly 90 percent of Alaska's unrestricted revenue".
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure you're not serious, but more flow is the last thing you need. Ninjas get to packin' bug-out bags, son!
